As the world confronts the need for appropriate governance structures in the age of AI, the inclusion of the firm becomes even more imperative when it is considered that businesses, rather than governments, have been the core drivers of this emerging technology in terms of spending, research and development, and deployment. Notwithstanding the existence of the United Nations Global Compact, the question remains as to whether the voice of the firm is sufficiently heard in the quest for the global instruments that will shape the world in the age of AI.
